My passion is to capture the moment in time when light passes through the flower petals, making them glow. I hope to inspire others to see the subtle beauty in nature that often goes unnoticed.

 My artistic process begins with growing my own flowers and tending to them year after year. Peonies, dahlias, and irises are some of my favorites, and are often the subjects of my paintings. I wait for the day when the clouds clear away and sunshine illuminates the fresh blossoms, so I can capture the moment on camera. Using my photographs, I sketch a composition before beginning my painting in watercolor or oil. My signature style is to layer transparent colors over each other to build luminosity.
